The Green Office Wageningen is part of several networks on a local, national, and international scale to facilitate collaboration and communication between sustainability-oriented organisations.
Our local collaborations
Green Active Network of Wageningen (GAN) unites the sustainable organisations in Wageningen. The mission is to reinforce the green movement and to build a bigger and stronger sustainability community in Wageningen. The number of organisations is constantly growing, encompassing many different backgrounds, ambitious people, topics, specialisations and approaches to sustainability. We strive to work together to increase collaborations, student engagement at WUR and the impact we can have together on making Wageningen and WUR more sustainable! Green Office Wageningen and Wageningen Environmental Platform are coordinating the GAN. Get involved to become part of an amazing community and contribute to a sustainable impact!
Green Office Wageningen is also coordinating and working on projects connecting students and staff at WUR, is striving to represent student voices in WUR's sustainability related policies and working on strengthening student engagement in sustainability topics at WUR.
Creative Community Garden is a sustainable community garden where you can join to help out, learn and meet new people.
Degrowth Wageningen is a community of people exploring degrowth by sharing knowledge and organizing educational events.
Extinction Rebellion Wageningen is an activist group that wants clear communication
about and more (political) action on today's sustainability crises.
Foodsharing Wageningen is collecting and distributing leftover food with the aim to reduce foodwaste while creating awareness.
Future for Nature Academy is a national network of young, motivated students and graduates, with a passion for nature conservation.
Green Active Network is a platform for sustainable organisations and initiatives in Wageningen.
Green Office Wageningen stimulates sustainability at Wageningen University & Research, by working towards a more sustainable mindset and more sustainable policies.
Inspringtheater Wageningen is a foundation that uses theater to stimulate dialogue between people.
Let’s Talk About Yes is a local activist group that aims to prevent sexual violence by raising awareness on related topics and promoting a culture that is based on consent.
OtherWise stimulates critical engagement by questioning the status quo and exploring alternative pathways towards a more environmentally and socially just world.
Plant-based universities Wageningen is the local branch of an international campaign, advocating for sustainable, 100% plant-based university catering facilities.
RUW Foundation aims to bring life to science, through a series of interactive events
and projects that inspire critical thinking and lively debates.
S&I is the Student Council Party for Sustainability and Integration, active
within the Student Council and WUR Council.
Scientists for Future Wageningen is a collective
group and network of concerned WUR researchers and peers actively working on a sustainable transition of WUR.
StartHub Wageningen is the startup incubator and educator for students,
PhD’s and recent graduates, focusing on the development of entrepreneurial
competences of students.
Stichting Boerengroep aims to connect the university with the reality and challenges of
farmers in the Netherlands and worldwide.
Student Alliance Wageningen is the student union of Wageningen that stands up for the interests of
students and works to improve the quality of student life.
TEDx Wageningen is an initiative with events involving live speakers
and recordings, aiming to discover new ideas and start conversations.
Thuis works together with residents, the municipality and other organisations,
to develop impactful solutions for social issues.
Vegan Student Association Wageningen is a community for
students who are interested in plant-based food.
Wageningen Alt Protein is a project working on promoting education,
research, and innovation in the field of alternative proteins.
Wageningen Environmental Platform strives to help
students be more environmentally minded and sustainable within their daily
lives.
WUR Student Challenges organises competitions and challenges, offering students great opportunities
of career and self-development by working on real-life problems.
Wageningen Student Farm offers an opportunity for students to bring their knowledge of organic
farming and biobased production of all forms into practice.
Our national collaborations
Green Office Wageningen is collaborating with Green Offices in other Dutch Universities to support each other in creating impact at our universities. We are an active member of the Studenten Voor Morgen (SvM) network. SvM “strives to integrate sustainability into higher education and student life and to systematically change higher education for current and future generations.” SvM is conducting the critical Sustainabul ranking of universities, organising sustainability related events and initiatives to improve the education system on national and local level by integrating sustainability and fostering collaborations.
Our international collaborations
The Green Office Movement is an international network of Green Offices that are working on systematically improving higher education by integrating sustainability topics and raising awareness on related issues. The GO Movement is empowering students to become drivers of change at their own universities level. Furthermore, we are also part of the Students Organizing for Sustainability International Movement (SOS International). SOS International “supports student and youth groups globally to lead on sustainability and social justice. We connect, strengthen and scale impactful initiatives – so together we can go further, faster.” SOS International works on many impactful initiatives with many partners all around the world, including the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) andGlobalStudent Forum (GSF). We are part of a global movement for a better climate education and student engagement!
