Let's start with the list of ingredients you will need for our absolutely delicious recipe.

  • 300 grams Potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Large Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 340 grams Canned Corned Beef 1x Tin of corned beef chopped into small cubes
  • 4 Eggs
  • Sprinkle of Parsley We used dried parsley to sprinkle on at the end!
  • Salt & Pepper

While certain ingredients require no explanation, I will provide more specific advice and appropriate alternatives below.

Potatoes

While we have a particular fondness for the humble white potato in our recipes, it's important to remember that this dish is versatile and can certainly accommodate other potato varieties.

Whether you opt for russet, red or sweet potatoes, each brings unique flavour and texture to the table.

For those seeking a convenient option, tinned potatoes are an excellent choice. As they're already cooked, they simply need to be diced before adding them to your recipe, saving you a step in the preparation process.

Corned Beef

You can buy canned corned beef in all supermarkets in the UK. It comes pre-cooked and ready to eat straight from the can/tin.

However, we believe that frying corn beef enhances its flavour significantly, making it even more delicious.

Do not be confused with home-cooked or deli counter corned beef this will not give the same results!

Eggs

Just a quick mention about the eggs used in this recipe, when they are cooked in the oven at the end they will cook with a firm yolk.

If you prefer a soft yolk I suggest you cook fried eggs, whilst the corned beef hash is cooking in the oven.

Optional Extras

Why not get creative with your corned beef hash? Explore the possibilities of adding fresh sliced chillies, garlic powder, a medley of mixed herbs, or even a splash of hot sauce for an extra kick of flavour. The choice is yours to elevate this classic dish to new levels of deliciousness!

Boil

Place the diced potatoes into a pan of boiling water to cook, they should take about 7 minutes. Drain and allow the boiled potatoes to air dry.

Fry

Grab a large, oven-safe pan (a cast iron one works great) and heat some olive oil in it.

Gently fry the onion in the oil until it's soft. This should take around 5 minutes.
