Fans of the beloved animated Pokémon TV series know Misty as the sassy and driven water-type trainer. She has also, over the course of several seasons, racked up quite the impressive Pokémon lineup.

From comic relief Pokémon to some real battle threats, Misty has acquired a versatile team of monsters over the years. However, it's clear that when it comes to Misty's Pokémon, some are better than others, whether in terms of fighting ability or overall significance in the animated series.

Azurill

Misty's 10 Most Powerful Pokémon, Ranked (1)

This baby Pokémon was hatched from an egg given to Misty in season eight, and while quite adorable, the Pokémon is still a novice compared to the others in her collection. Azurill was often used to fight Team Rocket but was not among the front-line battlers in Misty's lineup.

Although Azurill is just a beginner in terms of fighting experience, thewater/fairy dual-type still makes a name for itself, which is one of the reasons fans love the mouse-inspired Pokémon.

Horsea

Misty's 10 Most Powerful Pokémon, Ranked (2)

Though the Pokémon is undoubtedly one of the cutest water types, Horsea doesn't get much air time in the animated series. When it first appeared in the show, its primary purpose is to spray ink in times of danger, which was proven very effective against enemies.

However, in the later seasons, Misty made the decision to send Horsea back to the Cerulean Gym so it can swim freely and live a better life. Although fans would've loved to see more of the Pokémon's fighting potential, they agree that Misty's difficult decision was best for Horsea's well-being.

Starmie

Misty's 10 Most Powerful Pokémon, Ranked (3)

Though many fans agree the Pokémon is successful in the games, viewers don’t see as much of the Pokémon in the actual series. Though Starmie was quite loyal to Mistyand never wanted to lether down, thewater-psychic type just wasn't as fierce of a competitor, and Staryu even battled more, even though Starmie is the evolved form.

Starmie likely wasn't used in battle as frequently as its predecessor Staryu because it didn't win in many battles throughout the animated series. Though Starmie didn't have a spot in Misty's lineup for long, she probably didn't mourn the loss after the few tears shed, as she went on to replace Starmie with much more powerful Pokémon later on.

Goldeen

Misty's 10 Most Powerful Pokémon, Ranked (4)

Though the Goldfish-inspired Pokémonhas come to Misty and the gang’s rescue several times during its duration on the show, Goldeen has only won a battle once. While the water-type is known for its intimidating horn attacks, itsbattle skills as a whole leave much to be desired.

Goldeen is often seen doing tasks for Misty and friends but is limited to solely aquatic activities, including transportingthem to various locations by the ocean, which is still very helpful. However, based on the big picture, fans agree that Goldeen isn't entirely helpful.

Corsola

Misty's 10 Most Powerful Pokémon, Ranked (5)

The Johto native Pokémon is known for its strong recovery power and is often an underrated one. While not a wildly popular Pokémon, the rock and water dual-type presents a strong case for itself during battles.

Many fans believe that its positive attitudeand cuteness factor contributes to Misty's strong bond with it. However, Corsola has many attributes that viewers often look past and fans admire Misty for taking a chance on this Pokémon.

Staryu

Misty's 10 Most Powerful Pokémon, Ranked (6)

Staryu is viewed as one of Misty's most valuable Pokémon for the sole fact that it has won a lot of battles over the years. Between its unique regeneration ability toits Water Gun attack, Staryu is all around a fierce competitor.

The water-type Pokémon was often Misty's go-to when it came to battles, even over its evolved form Starmie. It's hard for fans to deny why Misty should have made this decision, though, as Staryu is clearly a powerful Pokémon.

Politoed

Not only was this Pokémon successful in defeating Team Rocketseveral times in the Johto days, but Politoed was a fierce fighter in all its forms. One reason Politoed is so admiredwithin Misty's lineup is because of its unique relationship with Misty, as Misty has bonded with the Pokémon throughout all three of its forms.

Though the Pokémon appears as if it would belong to a different type based on its color, Politoed is no doubt a fierce water type with its water gun specialty used in battles. All in all, the three-time-evolved sidekick to Misty is beloved for not only its cute disposition but for its fierce fighting capabilities, as well.

Psyduck

Misty's 10 Most Powerful Pokémon, Ranked (8)

Although Misty and Psyduck had a sort of love-hate relationship in the beginning, the Pokémon actually brings a lot of skill to the table. This comically silly Pokémon doesn't always understand social cues, but when its fiercely-effective Confusion power is in effect, its enemies are rendered powerless.

To bring on the ultimate Confusion, Psyduck often needs a powerful headache, a few times of which Misty even hits him on the head on purpose. While that action on Misty's part is quite questionable, it seems worth it once Psyduck single-handedly distracts its oponents.

Togepi

Misty's 10 Most Powerful Pokémon, Ranked (9)

It's no doubt that Togepi ends up becoming one of Misty's favorite Pokémon, as she's frequently seen carrying it around everywhere she and the gang traveled. From its little baby form to its second form of Togetic, these two have been through it all together.

Between the battle strength of Togetic itself and the special bond they form throughout evolutions, they are an unmatched iconic duo. While fans were sad that Misty eventually set it free, they were just happy to have witnessed such a special Trainer/Pokémonrelationship.

Gyarados

Misty's 10 Most Powerful Pokémon, Ranked (10)

Commonly known as one of the best water-type Pokémon of all time, Gyarados' power is hard to ignore. Though the Pokémon's immense strength was at first intimidating to Misty, she soon overcame her fear once sheobtained and tamed her own.

Stubborn like a hard-to-tame wild animal, diverse and epic battle movies like Hyper Beam, Flamethrower, and Hydro Pump, one of the most powerful water moves. Knowing this, there's no question that Gyarados is one of Misty's most powerful Pokémon to this day.
